Privacy Policy

Effective date: [EFFECTIVE DATE]

1. Who we are

Kaamyabi ("Kaamyabi", "we", "us") operates https://kaamyabi.in and provides career guidance, counselling, assessment, skill development and placement-support services. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why, and the choices you have. It is written to align with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 ("DPDP Act") and other applicable Indian law, and we intend to comply with the DPDP Act and its rules as they come into force.

Data Fiduciary: [LEGAL ENTITY NAME], [REGISTERED ADDRESS, Kolkata, West Bengal].

2. Data we collect

We collect personal data in three ways:

  • Forms you submit: name, phone number, email address, class/career stage, school or institution details, and any message you write — when you request a callback, book a session, or enquire about partnerships.
  • Assessments and services: your responses to career assessments, the resulting reports and roadmaps, session notes, and progress on skill modules.
  • Automatically, via analytics and cookies: device and browser information, pages visited, and usage patterns — used to keep the site working, secure, and improving. See the Cookies section below.

3. Why we use your data (purposes)

  • To provide the services you request — assessments, reports, counselling sessions, roadmaps and placement support.
  • To contact you about your enquiry, bookings and service updates (including via phone, email and WhatsApp where you have shared that number).
  • To improve our services, content and website experience.
  • To meet legal, accounting and security obligations.

We process personal data on the basis of your consent, given when you submit a form or begin a service, and for the legitimate uses the DPDP Act recognises. You may withdraw consent at any time (see "Your rights").

4. Minors' data and parental consent

Many of our users are school students, including students of Class 8 and above who are under 18. We treat this with particular care:

  • For users under 18, we require the consent of a parent or legal guardian before collecting personal data or delivering assessments and counselling, in line with the DPDP Act's requirements for processing children's data.
  • School-stage services are designed for parents to participate: reports are shared with parents/guardians, and counselling sessions include them.
  • We do not use minors' data for advertising, tracking-based profiling, or any purpose beyond providing the guidance services requested.
  • Where we partner with schools, the school and Kaamyabi record the basis of parental consent before assessment drives.

5. Cookies and analytics

We use essential cookies needed for the site to function, and analytics to understand how the site is used ([ANALYTICS PROVIDER — e.g., Google Analytics 4 / Plausible]). Analytics data is used in aggregate and not to identify you personally. You can control cookies through your browser settings; blocking essential cookies may affect site functionality.

6. Who we share data with

We never sell personal data, and we never share it with third parties for their advertising. We share data only with service providers (data processors) who help us operate — such as website hosting, email delivery, communication tools and payment processing — under agreements that limit their use of your data to our instructions. Current categories: [LIST PROCESSORS — e.g., hosting provider, Resend (email), Google Workspace, payment gateway].

We may disclose data where required by law or to protect the rights, safety and security of users and the public.

7. Data retention and security

We retain personal data only as long as needed for the purposes above, then delete or anonymise it. Assessment reports are retained while your account or engagement is active, and for [RETENTION PERIOD] after, so returning users can access their history. We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards — encryption in transit, access controls, and least-privilege practices — to protect your data.

8. Your rights

Under the DPDP Act, you can:

  • Access a summary of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Request correction or updating of inaccurate data.
  • Request erasure of your data, subject to legal retention duties.
  • Withdraw consent at any time, with effect going forward.
  • Nominate a person to exercise these rights on your behalf.
  • Raise a grievance (below) and escalate to the Data Protection Board of India if unresolved.

To exercise any right, email us at [YOUR EMAIL] or write to the grievance officer below.
